• Candidate must have an authentic certificate to prove that he has passed The National Teacher Education Parishad from a recognized educational institution.

  Candidate must have passed the BTCT course from any esteemed institution approved by National Teacher Education Council, UP. 
  OR 
  A candidate must possess a diploma of 2 years in education recognized by Indian Rehabilitation Parishad.
• Candidate should have a bachelor’s degree and appropriate B.T.C. Training qualifications. 
  OR 
  Must have qualified Bachelor’s degree of 2 years along with BCT Urdu special training course in U.P.
• Those aspirants who want to become Urdu teachers, must have acquired their bachelor’s degree along with teaching Diploma from Aligarh Muslim University.
  OR
  Moallim-E-Urdu Degree before 11-08-1997.

Eligible Candidates for UPTET 2020 (Paper 2)

• The candidate must have completed his/her bachelor’s or master’sdegree from a recognized university which is affiliated to University Grant Commission.
• Those candidates who have completed their 4 year degree course in Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.), B.A.Ed., B.Sc.Ed. from any educational institute recognized by NCTE are also considered to be eligible to apply for UPTET 2020 examination.
  OR 
  Candidates who have completed their Graduation and Post Graduation from a recognized university with minimum 50% marks along with B.ED degree can also apply for UPTET 2020 examination.

General Eligibility pointers for UPTET 2020 examination

• Interested UPTET candidate should be an Indian citizen.
• The age limit for candidates to apply for UPTET 2020 examination is between 18 to 35 years.
• The provision of age relaxation is available only for the candidates from the Reserved categories.
• Candidates who are the citizens of Nepal/Tibet/Bhutan are also eligible to apply for UPTET examination.

UPTET 2020 Eligibility Criteria for Sanskrit and English teachers (PRIMARY LEVEL: Classes 1st to 5th)

• Candidates must have (Sanskrit/English) as main subjects in their bachelor’s degree.
• It is mandatory for them to have B.C.T degree from any educational institute recognized by NCTE (National Council for Teacher Education).
  OR 
  Must have acquired a 2 year Diploma either from N.C.T.E or from any institute approved by the Rehabilitation Council of India. 
  OR 
  The candidates who have completed their Nursery Teacher Training which is popularly known as NTT will also be considered to be eligible to apply for UPTET 2020 Paper 1.

UPTET 2020 Eligibility Criteria for Sanskrit and English teachers(UPPER PRIMARY LEVEL: Classes 6th to 8th)

• Candidates must have completed their bachelor’s degree course with English/Sanskrit as their main subject along with a certificate of B.T.C or C.T. issued by any esteemed educational institute approved by NCTE. 
  OR 
  Must have acquired a bachelor’s degree with English or Sanskrit as main subject with minimum 50% with authentic degree in Bachelor of Education or special B.ed. from an educational institute recognized by NCTE or RCI. 
  OR 
  Minimum 45% marks in Bachelor’s degree and must have B.Ed degree from any recognized educational Institute.

UPTET 2020 Eligibility Criteria for Urdu teacher (PRIMARY LEVEL: Classes 1st to 5th)

• Candidates must possess the degree of Graduation or Post Graduation from any recognized University with Urdu as their main subject.
• Also, it is mandatory to do B.T.C from any NCTE recognized educational institution in Uttar Pradesh.
  OR 
  The UPTET 2020 applicants must have done BTC(2 year programme)in Urdu Training from Uttar Pradesh. 
  OR 
  The candidate must be a degree holder from Moallim E Urdu before 11.08.1997.

UPTET 2020 Eligibility Criteria for Urdu teacher (UPPER PRIMARY LEVEL: Classes 6th to 8th)

• Candidates must have done Graduation or Post Graduation in any stream from a recognized university with Urdu as their main subject.

• Also, they must be BTC qualified from any educational institute approved by NCTE, Uttar Pradesh. 
  OR 
  Candidates having B.ed or B.ed special degree from an NCTE/RCI approved educational institute are also eligible to apply for this paper. 
  OR 
  Students who have done their BTC training programme in Uttar Pradesh of 2 years duration are also approved by eligibility criteria for UPTET 2020. 
  OR
  Possess a degree from Moallim E Urdu before 11.08.1997 
  OR 
  Teaching Diploma holder of Aligarh Muslim University.

Essential Pointers about UPTET 2020 Eligibility Certificate

• Only those candidates who score 60% and above will be considered eligible to get the UPTET 2020 certificate by UPEB.
